Welcome! I'm Kim and I am so happy to be serving the community where I grew up. My mom was also a hairdresser and used to have an in-home salon. I loved sitting in the empty dryer chair or shampoo chair and watching their hair transform after a cut or color. That influence and my love for meeting new people and making people feel good about themselves made a career as a hairdresser a perfect fit! After attending cosmetology school in Rochester, I moved home and opened my own salon in 2003.
I love continuing my education and I am always looking for the next class I want to attend. My favorite classes to take are about advanced color formulation and the science behind hair color! I always look forward to a full day at the salon. The clients that sit in my chair feel like part of my extended family.
My husband Dennis and I are surrounded by our entire immediate family, everyone lives within 15 minutes of each other! We were married in 2006 and have three children two dogs. I love swapping parenting advice with other moms! I almost always start my day with a workout at the local gym or going for a run or walk with friends.
You will find me very approachable and easy to talk to, it is my goal to make you feel welcomed and at ease when you visit me. While most stylists offer a great first visit and a solid maintenance plan, I see my role as your stylist a bit differently. We will work together to create a long-term hair care plan, I never want you to feel bored or stuck in a routine. I will always check in with you to see if any new issues have come up and we'll work through them together.
The salon itself is full of happy stylists and technicians and you’ll get to know them as much as you will get to know me. Everyone loves our coffee here at the salon! We add a special ingredient and I’ll share our simple secret with you when you try a cup (no, it’s not Bailey’s).
